One out of every fifty people qualifies for Mensa.
Are you the one?
If you enjoy mental challenges and revel in the interplay of ideas, Mensa is an organization that will give you many opportunities to stretch your mind and expand your horizons. Mensa is an international society that has one - and only one - unique qualification for membership: you must score in the top 2% of the population on a standardized IQ test. Find out more about qualifying for Mensa membership.
Mensa has more than 50,000 members in the United States and more than 100,000 members worldwide. Members of American Mensa range in age from 4 to 100 and come from all segments of society. In fact, there's only one thing all Mensans have in common: high intelligence.
In Mensa, members can meet other stimulating members, join one of the over
150 special interest groups, attend local, national, and international events, or become involved with our Mensa Educational and Research Foundation (MERF). Mensa, through MERF, sponsors research into the nature of intelligence and awards thousands of dollars in scholarships each year. Find out about the benefits of Mensa membership!
Northwest Florida Mensa is one of 135 Mensa groups in the United States as part of American Mensa. Members of Northwest Florida Mensa get together locally for events such as speaker meetings, Happy Hours, potluck dinners and game nights. Check out our calendar of local events. Nationally, members may attend events such as our Annual Gathering, Mind Games® and Colloquium. American Mensa also has more than 150 special interest groups ranging from astronomy to scuba.
Membership Testing
Mensa admissions tests can be administered through our local test proctors. Standard Mensa admissions testing consists of two tests administered with a short break between them. Testing takes about two hours. A score at or above the 98th percentile on either test qualifies you for Mensa membership. Tests are intended for those who speak English as their main language. Special arrangements can be made for those who would have difficulty taking a test in English.
Test anxiety got you down?
You can also join Mensa by submitting a qualifying score from a standardized intelligence test you've taken previously. To view a partial list of qualifying scores, or to learn more about this process, find out about submitting test scores.
